Refund Policy

Policy Statement

Refunds for engineer assessment applications will not be granted if the applicant fails to meet the eligibility criteria including where the applicant or their referees have failed to take the necessary action to meet the eligibility criteria. Refunds may only be considered in the following circumstances:

  • Error by Professionals Australia
    A full refund may be issued if an error is made by Professionals Australia in processing the application that adversely affects the applicant's eligibility or assessment outcome.
  • Special Circumstances
    In exceptional cases, refunds may be considered when unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances significantly impact the applicant's ability to meet the eligibility requirements or complete the application process. Examples of special circumstances include, but are not limited to:
    • Serious illness or injury
    • Bereavement of an immediate family member
    • Other compassionate grounds as deemed appropriate by Professionals Australia

Procedure for Requesting a Refund

  1. Applicants seeking a refund must submit a formal written request to Professionals Australia, detailing the grounds for their request.
  2. The request will be reviewed by the engineering assessment team within Professionals Australia.
  3. A decision will be communicated to the applicant within 14 business days of receiving the refund request.
  4. If a refund is deemed appropriate, it will be processed within 14 business days from the time that the decision is made (excluding bank transaction timeframes).

Non-Refundable Conditions

Refunds will not be granted under the following conditions:

  • Failure to meet eligibility criteria due to qualifications, experience, or other professional standards.
  • Delays or failures caused by the applicant or their referees, including but not limited to incomplete submissions, lack of response, or failure to provide necessary documentation within specified timeframes.

All refund decisions are at the discretion of Professionals Australia and are final.
