Is RPENG officially recognised by state regulators?

Yes. Professionals Australia (RPEng) are a fully accredited assessment entity approved by the government—including the BLA (Victoria) and BPEQ (Queensland). Our assessment gives you the exact legal compliance required to practice, without the inflated fees of traditional pathways.

What are the benefits of becoming a registered engineer?

Becoming a registered engineer ensures you are legally compliant with state-based mandatory registration schemes, allowing you to sign off on engineering designs and avoid individual fines of up to $101,755.

Beyond meeting legal requirements, registration protects your career by maintaining your eligibility for government-tendered infrastructure projects and provides a nationally recognised validation of your professional expertise and standing.

What other benefits are included when I apply for RPEng?

When you apply for your RPEng assessment, you don't just get certified – you also get 12 months of complimentary premium membership with Professionals Australia (included in your one-time $951 investment).

  • Department of Local Government, Industry Regulation and Safety (LGIRS), Western Australia
  • City and Environment Directorate (CED), ACT Government
What happens if my assessment isn't approved right away?

Our goal is to help qualified engineers achieve registration, not to look for reasons to reject you. If your application doesn't quite meet the requirements, we don't just issue a standard denial.

Our assessment team will provide you with clear, specific feedback outlining exactly what evidence is missing. You will be given the opportunity to clarify your experience or provide the additional documentation needed before a final decision is made.

Please note that except in exceptional circumstances, your application fee cannot be refunded. You can see our Refund Policy here.
